Objective : This study is a basic study conducted to develop a cognitive training program for the purpose of improving cognitive function and preventing dementia in the elderly with mild cognitive impairment.
Methods : This study developed a cognitive training program based on literature surveys and cooperation from experts and applied it to five elderly people at nursing hospitals in Gyeongnam. After that, a survey was conducted on the elderly and occupational therapists to verify the program.
Results : As a result of the application of the program, there was no difference in the correct answer rate by difficulty level, and most of the survey results of the subjects and occupational therapists reported that they were interested and wanted to recommend it to others.
Conclusion : Both the subject and the occupational therapist showed high satisfaction and gave feedback to supplement the program. However, it is difficult to generalize due to the small number of subjects, and it is necessary to modify the difficulty or composition of each item. Based on this study, the cognitive training program to be developed in the future is expected to be actively used in the local community.
